Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Jennifer Rubin

I grew up in Kansas City, Missouri and was involved with swim team, theatre, and band throughout high school. Some of my favorite memories were made with friends from all of these activities. I graduated from the University of Central Missouri, Warrensburg in 2010 (BME) and began my career as a teacher with the Brookfield R-3 School District, teaching grades 5-12. I met some incredible students, families, and teachers! Earning a master’s degree had been a long-term goal of mine and in 2015 it felt like the right time to pursue this goal. I was accepted as a Graduate Assistant at Truman State University and graduated in 2017 with an MA in music with an emphasis in wind band conducting. I am finishing my final year as Director of Bands at Winnetonka High School (2017-20). During my time in Kansas City, I served as co-conductor for the Metropolitan Youth Sinfonia and played flute with the Northwinds Symphonic Community Band. My favorite thing about teaching band is being able to provide students with memories that they will carry with them for the rest of their lives.

I am excited to join the fantastic team of students and staff at Fayette R-III School District!
