    Homecoming Dress Up Days (September 27-30th):

    Thursday - BBQ Dads vs Soccer Moms (Dads and Moms Attire) 

    Friday - Hometown Smackdown/Throwdown (Black & Gold Day)

    Don’t forget dress-up days are a part of class competitions, so please show your school spirit. 

     

    The Homecoming Dance will be immediately after the dance on Friday, September 30th. The price is $4.00 per person. Sign up forms are at the office for outside dates. Please get those forms turned in by Wednesday, September 28th by the end of the day.  

     

    Juniors and Seniors: Mrs. Shepard is taking students to a College Fair in Boonville on Thursday, October 13th. We will leave campus around 8:30 am and arrive back around 11:00 am. Your parents must fill out and sign a permission slip in order for you to go. She has permission slips in her office or you can pick one up at the library. Those are due back by Friday, September 30th.

     

    Jostens will be here Thursday, Oct 4th in the library during lunches for graduation orders.

     

    If you are interested in being on the Quiz Bowl team, please sign up in the library.

     

    PSAT for sophomores and juniors will be Wednesday, Oct. 12th.

    Students who have loaner Chromebooks from the Library need to return these asap. We will not be able to checkout loaners if they are not returned at the end of the hour/day of which you are using the computer.

     

    THERE SHOULD BE NO LIVESTREAMING DURING SCHOOL. Cell phones are only to be used by teacher permission.

     

    Seniors: Please do not park in the four parking places nearest the building next to the football field or the parking place adjacent to the disabled spaces. These are reserved for the Parents as Teachers Play Center. Thank you.

    The Missouri Farm Bureau Ambassador program provides an opportunity for young  leaders to represent agriculture and Farm Bureau for one year. One male and one  female applicant will be selected as ambassadors at the 2022 Annual Meeting of the  Missouri Farm Bureau Federation.  

    Each ambassador is eligible to receive a $2,500 educational scholarship provided by the  Missouri Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture. The ambassadors will make selected  appearances throughout 2023 on behalf of agriculture and Farm Bureau, coordinated by the Director of Promotion and Education.  

    If you are interested in this program your parents must be members of Farm Bureau. Please fill out the attached application (I can print one if needed) and  at the address below BEFORE September 30th!

    Mrs. Shepard has ACT study guides and flashcards that can be checked out. An email was sent out to juniors and seniors yesterday with a study guide pdf.

    • Ask criminal justice professionals questions about career opportunities. Representatives from several agencies will be available to answer questions in the morning. 

    • View crime scene and use of force demos.

    • Observe a mock trial session and teaching demonstration.

    Here is a scholarship opportunity for you all...

     

    The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide four-year need-based merit scholarship providing each recipient with the opportunity to graduate college debt-free, providing up to $6,000 each semester. After graduation from college Hagan Scholars can apply for a two-year extension of their scholarship to attend graduate school or a professional school, receiving $6,000 each semester.

     

    Free workshops, Free Schwab Brokerage Accounts, and Free Study Abroad provide recipients with a practical understanding of important life skills not typically covered in the school curriculum.

    Basic Eligibility Requirements:

    1. Must attend an eligible public high school

    Central Methodist University will be hosting a Career Explorations on Day Monday, October 24th from 9:00-1:00 for students interested in Marine Biology and Health Sciences (Nursing, Physical Therapy Assistant, and Occupational Assistant). 

     

    Do you see yourself exploring oceans and streams or maybe helping others improve overall wellness? This day could be the start to an exciting career. During the day you will be interacting with faculty and students as you learn about potential careers; salary, job outlook, and beneficial skills.
