    Board Awards Night is Wednesday, May 8th in the FHS gym, starting at 6:00 PM. Students and parents were notified by email of the award information.

     

    Seniors: Project Graduation Night is May 19th 9:30 PM - May 20th 5:00 AM at CMU Rec Center. Fun activities include a hypnotist, cash grab money machine, laser tag, a bounce house, scavenger hunt, many more games, and FOOD. You must arrive before 10:30 PM and no returning after leaving. Come make one last memory as the class of 2024.

     

    Spring Sports Senior Night is tonight at CMU’s Estes Baseball Field before the baseball game starting at 4:55 am. Seniors & senior managers from boy’s baseball, track, and boys' golf will be recognized.

     

    UMKC is offering three exciting one-day Pharmacy Camps in Columbia, Springfield & Kansas City.

    • Kansas City - June 28

    Students who have completed 9th grade or higher can register online!

     

    The end of the year is fast approaching, so please check your lunch balance. Any negative balances should be paid by the end of the school year.

    Did you forget to order your 2022-2023 FHS Yearbook? Or saw the yearbook, and now you want to purchase one? Well, you are in luck! There are a limited number of them on sale now for $30 per yearbook. See Mrs. Williams in the library or contact one of the yearbook staff members.

    Students that need to see Mrs. Shepard, please use the QR code posted around the school to set up an appointment. You may also email her if you can’t access those QR codes.

     

    Seniors: Please do not park in the four parking places nearest the building next to the football field or the parking place adjacent to the disabled spaces. These are reserved for the Parents as Teachers Play Center.

     

    Students who have loaner Chromebooks from the Library need to return them ASAP. We will not be able to check out loaners if they are not returned at the end of the hour/day of which you are using the computer. If you have already received your one-to-one personal Chromebook, make sure you bring those to school every day. The loaners are needed for students that have yet to receive their personal Chromebook. When you return your loaner Chromebooks, please make sure you place them back on the chargers. 

     

    THERE SHOULD BE NO LIVESTREAMING DURING SCHOOL. Cell phones are only to be used by teacher's permission. Violations of this rule will result in a discipline referral.

    Tareva S. Williams-Anderson was a graduate of Central Methodist University who earned degrees in Psychology and Criminal Justice. She passed away in November of 2021. She wanted to make people aware of the stigmas surrounding mental health. This scholarship is a one-time award between $250-$500. The deadline to submit the scholarship is Tuesday, April 30th.

    This scholarship is for African American, Native American, and Latino American females from a single parent household in Howard and surrounding counties who are seeking a degree in Psychology or Psychiatric Studies. Candidates must submit a verified statement of their most recent GPA signed by the high school counselor. Candidates must also submit a handwritten paragraph telling why she deserves the scholarship and how it will help her obtain her goals.

    Submissions should be sent to the following address, and they will notify the school by May 3rd.

    The AGA Mid-Missouri Chapter is now accepting applications for our Skip Eno Memorial Scholarship Program for Undergraduate college students.  For more information and to apply, please visit our website at:  https://midmoaga.org/Awards_Scholarships  Applications are due no later than May 1, 2024. I have a few applications in my office. AGA is the association for connecting and empowering professionals who support the government, from financial management to IT, human resources, cybersecurity and more, to accelerate their careers. We work together to advance good government initiatives and improve citizen trust in government.

    Good Shepherd Hospice is now accepting applications for student volunteers. This is a great opportunity to learn about a new career and add to your resume. Some of the programs include:

    • Human Services/Sociology

    • Theology

    • Gerontology/Family Studies

    • Office Administrative Programs

    • Future medical students

    • Future nursing students

    My name is Dror Liebenthal, CEO of Bold.org, the largest independent scholarship provider in the US with millions of students. We've recently launched the $18K Ryan Yebba Memorial Mental Health Scholarship, and we'd love to receive more applications across the country. Since the application deadline is coming soon, we're hoping to collaborate with Fayette High School to help fight student debt by sharing the news.

    Smith Chapel Scholarship

         Requirements:

    ● Student must attend one of the following high schools:

    1) Harrisburg High School

    2) Fayette High School

    3) Sturgeon High School

    ● Student must have an accumulative GPA of 2.5.

    ● Student must be enrolled in a college or technical school for the Fall Semester.

    ● The scholarship will be available in the fall once your college has confirmed that you are enrolled.

    *The deadline for this scholarship is TODAY.
