    The school is offering a pep bus for the district softball game tomorrow. 20 students have to sign up for this to happen. Please meet in the front of the school no later than 12:15 pm. The bus will leave promptly at 12:20 pm and the cost is $6 for the game. There is a sign up sheet in the library.  If we don’t get 20 students, we will not be taking a bus.

     

    LYBL Home Care is in need of a worker for one of their clients in Glasgow during the week from 4-7. Pay is $15 an hour and the worker must be 18 years old. Inquiries can call Felicia Hayes at 660-530-7081 or email info@lyblhome.com.

     

    FHS students planning on participating in basketball or basketball cheer, please make sure you have a current physical and complete the MSHSAA forms on the FinalForms website https://www.finalforms.com

      

    If you didn’t order a FHS 21-22 yearbook from the last school year, we have extras for $40. They may be purchased at the library on a first come basis and will be sold until they are gone 

     

    Please check your lunch balances periodically. Lunch payments can be made at the office in the mornings.

     

    FHS Senior Parent Night for football, softball, cheer, and band will be held on Friday, October 14th. Football/Football Band will be recognized before the game. Parents please meet Ms. Williams by the scoreboard at 6:15 pm. Softball, cheer, and band will be recognized at halftime. Please meet Ms. Williams by the scoreboard with 3 minutes left till the half.

     

    If you are interested in being on the Quiz Bowl team, please see Coach James.

     

    Picture Retakes and Senior Tux/Drapes is on Oct. 27th. For the drape pictures, you will need to wear a tank top or spaghetti strap top. 

     

    Auditions for the comedy musical "Murder at Crimson House" will be Tuesday, 10/18 3:30-6:00

    Wednesday 10/19 3:30-6:00 

    in the DC Music Room

     

    Expectations: 

    • 2-5 minute long monologue

    •  1 memorized song

    Students who have loaner Chromebooks from the Library need to return these asap. We will not be able to checkout loaners if they are not returned at the end of the hour/day of which you are using the computer.

     

    THERE SHOULD BE NO LIVESTREAMING DURING SCHOOL. Cell phones are only to be used by teacher permission.

     

    Seniors: Please do not park in the four parking places nearest the building next to the football field or the parking place adjacent to the disabled spaces. These are reserved for the Parents as Teachers play center. Thank you.

     

    The October ACT test will be given at FHS on Oct. 22nd. Please see Mrs. Shepard if you have any questions.

    Mrs. Shepard has ACT study guides and flashcards that can be checked out. An email was sent out to juniors and seniors yesterday with a study guide pdf.

    ACT prep is set for October 18th- Math (1st-2nd hour) and Science is (6th-7th hours).

    Juniors and Seniors that are interested in learning more about Southeast Missouri State University, they will be having visit days on October 21 and December 9. Please check your emails for more information.

     

    Here is a scholarship opportunity for you all...

    The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide four-year need-based merit scholarship providing each recipient with the opportunity to graduate college debt-free, providing up to $6,000 each semester. After graduation from college Hagan Scholars can apply for a two-year extension of their scholarship to attend graduate school or a professional school, receiving $6,000 each semester.

     

    Free workshops, Free Schwab Brokerage Accounts, and Free Study Abroad provide recipients with a practical understanding of important life skills not typically covered in the school curriculum.

    Basic Eligibility Requirements:

    Central Methodist University will be hosting a Career Explorations on Day Monday, October 24th from 9:00-1:00 for students interested in Marine Biology and Health Sciences (Nursing, Physical Therapy Assistant, and Occupational Assistant). 

     

    Do you see yourself exploring oceans and streams or maybe helping others improve overall wellness? This day could be the start to an exciting career. During the day you will be interacting with faculty and students as you learn about potential careers; salary, job outlook, and beneficial skills.  

     

    Please let Mrs. Shepard know by Friday, October 14th if you are interested in attending this event.

     

    State Technical College of Missouri will be having a Career Exploration day on Thursday, November 3rd for careers in the areas of Construction, Health Sciences, and Electronics/Computers. Please let Mrs. Shepard if you are interested in going.
