Here is a scholarship opportunity for you all...
The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide four-year need-based merit scholarship providing each recipient with the opportunity to graduate college debt-free, providing up to $6,000 each semester. Must have achieved a 3.5 GPA
Must enroll in an eligible college or university
Must maintain a 4 year or less graduation schedule
Applicant’s Adjusted Household Income reported for Federal Income Tax Purposes must not Exceed $85,000.
To apply, click on the following link: https://haganscholarships.org/application/. You will need to create a new account before being able to apply. Let me know if you have any questions.
The Coolidge Scholarship is a full-ride, four-year, merit scholarship that may be used by recipients for undergraduate study at any accredited college or university in the United States. Any high school junior who plans to enroll in college in the fall of 2024 and is an American citizen or legal permanent resident is eligible to apply (current high school seniors are not eligible to apply). Winners may use the scholarship to pursue any academic major. More information about the Coolidge Scholarship is posted outside of the library and the counselor’s office.
It’s once again time for Howard Electric’s Youth Tour Contest. As in the past, high school juniors will be eligible to compete for a FREE trip of a lifetime to Washington D.C. as well as a $1,000 scholarship. In the past, we have had less than ten students compete for this scholarship, so the odds of winning might be better than any other scholarship. With that said, we would like to see this program grow, so in addition to providing a trip and scholarship to the winner, we will also award a $50 gift card to the sponsoring teacher of the winner.
The students who have attended in the past have consistently said what a great trip it is. These students become college roommates, professional colleagues, and lifelong friends. For some, it’s a fun trip that later brings fond memories. To others, Youth Tour inspires kids to discover the adults they’re going to be, and hey, looks really good on college applications!
Contest winners will be with about 100 other contest winners from all over the state of Missouri, so your travel companions are really the “cream of the crop.”
There will be 1 finalist as the Youth Tour winner, who receives a paid trip to Washington D.C. and a $1,000 scholarship. There will be 1 runner-up, who receives a paid trip to the “CYCLE” 3 day conference in Jefferson City where they will experience Missouri Government.
This summer’s trip to Washington D.C. is scheduled for June 12th – 18th. This is a great trip and a great scholarship opportunity, so I hope you will encourage your students to take advantage of this. The runner-up Jefferson City CYCLE program is July 19th – 21st. I have included a couple of flyers that you can hang up at your school to help promote if you would please.
Students will need to complete the 2023 application (which I have included along with the contest rules and FAQs) and submit it by February 24th. Only the application, which includes a short essay, will need to be submitted this year – no long essay like in the past. The five finalists will then be contacted to set up a short interview at the Howard Electric Cooperative office. We will then choose the finalist and runner-up on the combined top scores.
Feel free to contact me at 660-248-3311 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions that you may have.
The Dr. Darrell “Jack” Holley | MUSIC Scholarship application is now available. Six $2,000.00 scholarships (non-renewable) will be awarded to students who graduate in 2023 from high schools in MUSIC member districts. Only ONE application from your district is to be submitted. Since we are only allowed one application for this scholarship, I want those of you interested in applying to write a one-page essay about why you deserve the scholarship and what makes you unique.
Please have your essays submitted to me by January 11th to be considered for the scholarship.
