    FHS StuCo is having a blood drive on Wednesday, March 8th. If you or someone you know that is interested in donating, contact any StuCo member, call 1-800-RED-CROSS (1-800-733-2767), or visit RedCross.org and enter FayetteHS to schedule an appointment. 

     

    Mariah Felten, Makenzie Felten, Whitley Sunderland, Payton Kindle, Preslee Sunderland, Hanah Quint, and Madi Lawson (bag only) - Turn all your softball stuff in to Coach James ASAP. If he doesn’t receive these things, a fine/fee will be assessed to your school account.

     

    The City of Fayette is accepting applications for a Municipal Pool Manager and Municipal Lifeguards. These positions are seasonal from May 2023 through August 2023. Applications are available in the City Clerk’s Office at 117 S. Main Street in Fayette, or on www.cityoffayettemo.com. Applications must be submitted by March 1st or until the positions are filled.

    Senior Baby Ads are available to order online. All ads will be handled through Jostens Online at Fayette High School | Jostens 

     

    Spring Sports have started. Make sure you have all FinalForms paperwork completed and a current physical on file with the school. If you have already completed paperwork on FinalForms, check to make sure you have the Spring Sport of your choice chosen. All paperwork, including a current physical, must be completed before you can  participate in practice.

     

    Any senior that has not ordered graduation items may still do so using www.thegraduationcenter.com. Jostens will be here on March 22nd at 9:00 am to deliver graduation orders.

     

    Please get a pass from your teachers before 8th hour starts to leave your Advisory Time. You must check in to your 8th hour class for attendance before leaving with your pass to other 8th hour classes. 

     

    Students that check out loaner Chromebooks, please return them after each class so others have the opportunity to check them out. 

     

    Please check your school lunch balance. Payments can be made at the office to Mrs. Fletcher.

     

    Students: Please regularly check your grades on SIS so that you know where you stand in your classes. Keep in mind that in high school you must pass classes in order to gain credits for graduation requirements. If you have any questions about credits or graduation requirements, please see Mrs. Shepard. 

     

    If you didn’t order a FHS 21-22 yearbook from the last school year, we have extras for $40. They may be purchased at the library on a first come basis and will be sold until they are gone. 

     

    Seniors: Please do not park in the four parking places nearest the building next to the football field or the parking place adjacent to the disabled spaces. These are reserved for the Parents as Teachers Play Center. Thank you.

    The Howard County Soccer League is awarding a one time $1,000 scholarship to a senior of Howard County. The deadline to apply for the scholarship is May 1st. The eligibility requirements include:

    • 3.0 GPA

    • Played in the Howard County Soccer League 

    • Student must attend a 4-year university/college

    • Student must have a  signed or committed to a sport in college

    Applications can be picked up in Mrs. Shepard's office.

    Mrs. Shepard has ACT study guides and flashcards that can be checked out. An email was sent out to juniors and seniors yesterday with a study guide pdf.

     

    Applications are now open for Missouri Credit Union’s annual scholarship program. To help member families cope with the rising cost of higher education, Missouri Credit Union will award 16 $2,500 scholarships to graduating seniors who are current members of the credit union, or whose parents or guardians are members. Recipients are selected based on financial need, scholastic achievement, and extracurricular activities.

     

    MCU’s scholarship funds can be used toward a four-year college or university or a two-year technical school of the recipients’ choice. The scholarship awards are available for members or children of MCU members. Interested students are invited to complete the application, provide a copy of their 2023-2024 Federal Student Aid form as well as their high school transcript, and share about themselves and their goals through a short essay and biographical sketch.     Lincoln University in Jefferson City, MO is having an Open House for prospective students on Friday, April 21st from 9:00 am- 3:00 pm. During the day students and their families will:

    • get answers to your questions about admissions and financial aid

    • take a campus tour

    • sit in on an actual LU class

    • learn about athletic opportunities

    • audition for the band and choir      

           

    If you and your family are interested and would like to register for this event, please scan the QR code on the flyer located in the Falcon Info Section by the library. 

    Here is a private scholarship opportunity for which you may be eligible. The scholarship, called the Access EXTRA Scholarship, is open to graduating Missouri high school seniors who meet certain criteria such as a cumulative high school GPA of 3.5+ through at least seven semesters and an Expected Family Contribution (EFC) of 12,000 or less. No essays are required, and you will need to upload your Student Aid Report (SAR)* and your high school transcript. The application is open February 1 to April 15, 2023 or until funds are depleted so do not delay in applying if you qualify!

    The scholarship is $2,000 per year and renewable for a total of up to four years. If you do not apply for this scholarship this year, you cannot get it going forward.

    The application is available on myscholarshipcentral.org/apply - then click on Apply Now, create an account or sign in if you already have an account, and then search for Access EXTRA. While on My Scholarship Central, you can also look for other scholarships you may be eligible for that are offered by Missouri-based nonprofit organizations and foundations.

    1. The Charlie Kruse Agricultural Scholarship

    Applicant must be:

    • Missouri residents and they or their parents hold a Farm Bureau membership

    • A high school senior enrolling in a 4 year college or university majoring in an agricultural field

    • Enrolled in the fall semester of the year the scholarship is awarded- 202

    All applicants must contain the following completed documents:

    • Letter of Recommendation from a high school counselor and teacher

    • letter of personal reference

    • high school transcript notification of college acceptance

    Charles E. Kruse Agricultural Scholarship Program with Missouri Farm Bureau deadline: March 15, 2022.

     

    2. Farm Bureau Vocational Scholarship

     

    Applicants must be:

    • Missouri residents and they or their parents hold a Farm Bureau membership

    • enrolled as a full-time student

    • enrolled in the the year the scholarship is awarded- 2023

    • pursuing an associate of applied science degree or certification in a trade related area to agriculture

    All applicants must complete the following:

    • Letter of recommendation from a school official

    • letter of personal reference

    • high school transcript

    Farm Bureau Vocational Scholarship Deadline:  March 31, 2023

     

    Braxton Rethwisch Scholarship

    The Missouri Association for College Admission Counseling (MOACAC) is pleased to offer the Braxton Rethwisch scholarship to high school seniors who exhibit a commitment to learning and have demonstrated leadership skills and community service involvement. Five students will be awarded a $1,000 non-renewable scholarship.

    Fitzgibbon Hospital Scholarship

    $2500 in scholarships will be awarded annually to local graduating high school seniors pursuing studies in a healthcare-related field. For those who are pursuing a healthcare-related career or major please submit the application by April 15th 2023.

    Application Criteria:

    Applicants must be graduating high school from Saline, Chariton, or Howard County, or a dependent of a Fitzgibbon Hospital/The Living Center employer

    Applicants must have been accepted by an accredited school, college, or university offering a certificate or degree program in a healthcare-related field. Letter of Acceptance is required.

    • Submit at least two letters of recommendation, one from a representative of the student's high school and one from a member of the community.

    • Submit a completed application with a copy of high school transcript by April 14th

    Mrs Shepard has applications in her office.

     

    CHARITON VALLEY LASE STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY

    ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

    1. The applicant must be a High School Senior graduating in the current

    school year and reside in a school district who is a current member of the

    Chariton Valley L.A.S.E. group.

    2. The applicant must be enrolled in a college or university and enrolled in

    undergraduate or graduate in the area of special education.

    3. The applicant must submit a short letter (no more than one page)

    explaining why he/she would be a good recipient of this scholarship. The

    applicant may wish to explain his/her current position, the college program

    in which enrolled, financial need, participation in special education

    organizations, community involvement, and any special circumstances.

    4. A letter of recommendation from an administrator or teacher in the

    applicant’s district is required.

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

    1. Up to two $500.00 scholarships will be awarded.

    2. The application must be submitted by March 31, 2023 to Melissa Duren.

    The recipient(s) of the scholarship(s) will be announced at the May LASE

    meeting.

    3. If planning to enroll in summer school and all eligibility requirements are

    met, an application should be submitted now.

    4. Payment of the scholarship will be based upon proof of enrollment.

    Payment will be made directly to the recipient and/or school of choice.

    5. There will be no discrimination on the basis of race, sex, age, or disability.

    MU is having a Medical Explorations workshop in June and is inviting current sophomores and juniors to check it out. See the information below to check it out and get signed up...

     

    The University of Missouri School of Medicine would like to extend an invitation to your current sophomores and juniors to participate in the Mizzou MedPrep: Medical Explorations workshop. The workshop is a 2-week online course with a one-day In-person visit to either the Columbia or Springfield Clinical Campus. The students will explore careers in healthcare, enhance self-awareness through personal assessment, and connect with peers, students, staff and faculty in healthcare.     The Central Missouri Chapter of the Charter Property Casualty Underwriter Society is pleased to award two scholarships to high school seniors entering a 4-year college for the 2023-24 school year!

     Available: Two $1,000 cash scholarships

     Eligibility: Spring 2023 graduating mid-Missouri high school seniors who plan to attend an 

          accredited college or university following graduation.

     Candidates will write an essay on the following topic:

     

    Describe how inflation and supply chain interruptions have affected

    the auto insurance industry and its consumers.

     Essay format:

    • Double-spaced using Times New Roman, 12 pt font

    • 2-3 pages in length with one-inch margins

    • Citation of references required

     Please include a cover sheet (in addition to the essay pages) stating your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, the high school you attend, and the accredited college or university you plan to attend. DO NOT show your name on the essay itself. Essays will be judged anonymously.

     Essays must be received by 4:00 pm on Thursday, April 13, 2023 and should be emailed to centralmocpcuscholarship@gmail.com
