    Homecoming Dress Up Days (October 3rd-6th):

    Wednesday - Alice in Wonderland’s Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum (Twin Day)

    Thursday - Moana (Tropical Day)

    Friday - Jungle Book’s Tribal Colors (Black & Gold Day)

    *Don’t forget dress-up days are a part of class competitions, so please show your school spirit. The class with the most points at the end of Homecoming Spirit Week will win an ice cream sundae party. 


    The Homecoming Dance will be immediately after the game on Friday, October 6th, in the high school commons. The price is $4.00 per person. Sign-up forms are at the office or on the counter in the library for outside dates. Please get those forms turned in by Thursday, October 5th, at 12:00 pm. A $50.00 gift card will be given away during the dance. You must be present to win.

    Inductions for NHS are today in the library, starting at 6 pm. New members arrive by 5:45 pm. Current members report to the library at 5:30 pm to make sure everything is set up and ready to go. Current members are responsible for the refreshments. Reminder: Active Membership requires 75% participation in ALL events.

    If you haven’t paid your NHS dues, please see Ms. Swanson. 

    Homecoming Royalty, please turn in your information sheets ASAP to Ms. Williams. 

    Class Officer Petitions are due TODAY by 3:30 pm. These petitions should be turned in to Ms. Williams only.

    There will be an upcoming Audition Workshop for students interested in auditioning for the school musical. The workshop will be on Wednesday, October, 4 from 4-6 in Mrs. Miner's classroom in the DC Music Room.  If you are interested in auditioning, please email Mrs. Miner to be added to the Google Classroom for the musical. Auditions for Zombie Prom: Atomic Edition will be on October 18, 19, and 20 from 4-6 pm.  If you have a conflict, contact Mrs. Miner for an alternative time.

    Dress Code: Many students are not abiding by the school dress code. Make sure that  you have extra clothing available to change or we can provide something for you. Continuous dress code violations or defiance when asked to change will be sent to Mr. Dobson with a discipline referral. Mr. Dobson shared the dress code policy on the 1st day of school, so all students were informed.

    Jostens will have a meeting with the Seniors in the library on Thursday, October 5th to discuss graduation orders. Graduation Order Day will also be in the library on Thursday, Oct. 12th, at 10:30am.

    Seniors: Please do not park in the four parking places nearest the building next to the football field or the parking place adjacent to the disabled spaces. These are reserved for the Parents as Teachers Play Center.

    Students who have loaner Chromebooks from the Library need to return them ASAP. We will not be able to checkout loaners if they are not returned at the end of the hour/day of which you are using the computer. If you have already received your one-to-one personal Chromebook, make sure you bring those to school every day. The loaners are needed for students that have yet to receive their personal Chromebook.  

    THERE SHOULD BE NO LIVESTREAMING DURING SCHOOL. Cell phones are only to be used by teacher permission. Violations of this rule will result in a discipline referral. 

    There weren’t  a lot of students that signed up for clubs. Club Dues will be open again  from Tuesday, October 10th - Friday, October 13th. 

    Juniors & Seniors that have already signed up with Mrs. Shepard: Mrs. Shepard is taking students to a college fair at Columbia, MO on Thursday, October 11th. The bus will leave campus around 8:30 am and arrive back around 11:00 - 11:30 am. Your parents must fill out and sign a permission slip in order for you to go. She has permission slips in her office or you can pick one up at the library. Those are due back to Mrs. Shepard by Tuesday, October 10th at 3 pm.

    Central Methodist University will be hosting an Experience Central Day on Saturday, October 14th. During the event you will connect with current students, meet faculty, and learn more about resources to help you succeed in college. Students going to the event are invited to the tailgate and football game against Benedictine College. Mrs. Shepard has cards in my office and there are some located on the counter in the library for those who are interested in attending this event. Please come grab one.

    State Fair Community College will be hosting a Preview Day on Saturday, October 27th from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm.
