• Two years ago we were excited to start the Fayette School Garden.  The Garden's Vision is to create an edible organic garden and experiential, cooperative classroom where students learn how to grow organice fruits and vegetables, learn to prepare healthy foods and create fundamental change for the school and the community it serves.  The garden goals are to offer a setting in which to integrate the studying of science, math, reading, environmental studies, nutrition, and health which will then cultivate the talents and skills of all student while enriching the students' capacities of observation and thinking.

We will prepare the garden soon for spring planting and hope to expand our production for use in the school cafeteria and to sell in our own Fayette School Farmer's Market next summer. The Garden is supported solely by donation.   We are certainly looking for good volunteers to assist in the upkeep of the garden-weeding, watering, mowing, harvesting, etc. as well as educating students in the art of gardening. If you would like to get involved please contact Kelly Beeler at 248-3800 (school) or by email at kjbeeler@fayette.k12.mo.us.  Donations graciously accepted as well!   For more information please see and "Like" our Fayette School Garden Page on Facebook.
